Small Groups

Groups can be based on themes, curriculum, locations, and more. Others are simply come-as-you-are. For more information on existing small groups or starting a new one, contact the church office.

"Doing life together..."


In the fall of 2006 Shelton United Methodist Church introduced small groups as a way of reconnecting with the way church was done by the early Christians. That is, small groups of folks getting together periodically, to share meals and prayers, encouragement and support. These groups of "little churches" provide a safe place where people can be known by one another, faults and all, and be loved anyway. Some examples of small groups are:


"Cheers" -- This is a book study small group that meets at 6:45 on Monday evenings in the Meditation Room of South Hall. On November 7th, we will begin listening to an audio version of The Shack. We are open to new members, preferring for them to join as we start a new book. But we will take anyone at any time.
